The previous owner of this dealership, Mountain States Motors, was in business for close to forty years and seemed to understand the VW owner mentality, which to me is, we're loyal to the brand, the car will sell itself, we're fairly knowledgeable, we do our research.

What I need from the dealer is to find the exact car I require and work out the numbers with me. Mountain States was always gracious, accomodating, and low-key, even when I'd stop by to just have a look at a new model without buying.

Emich, who bought the dealership, has also been in business for many years in Denver, selling Chryslers. The mentality seems quite different.

I've had time to sort it out and kick myself for taking the Passat to the dealer for service (idiot.) From doing some research, it looks like a bad PCV breather valve, valve cover gasket, and cam tensioner seal.

I think I could tackle the job myself pretty easily, but just don't have the time right now.

Can anyone recommend a good independent shop in Denver that works on late-model Audi/VW?

Joe T.
