Does the proper torque on the steering wheel nut help solve the scraping problem, or is just the grease on the track? I don't have a torque wrench, so when I did this I just kinda cranked it down. Was that a mistake?

my husband took off the steering wheel relubed the horn ring and tightened the steering wheel to the foot/pounds in the book.

a very quiet steering wheel it is.
