Don't know where you are but in California if you can prove [with your estimate sheets you get when you bring in a vehicle ] that you had brought the problem to the dealer's attention prior to warranty expiration and they didn't fix it then they must by law fix it under warranty even after the warranty period is up

At least this is what I understand the law to be. I can check with my buddy who's an attorney for the California DMV if anyone really cares.
