I did some of it in New Mexico a while back - a year ago, I guess. It seemed
to me like a fair bit of driving slowly through desert and through the very
dreary sides of some rather sad towns that have been have been bypassed by
the interstate. Plus a few strips where there are rows of cheap motels
trying to hype I-66. In Albuquerque it is the main drag in a fairly cool
neighborhood (you know, cute stores, good coffee, free wifi, easy area to
stealth camp - ask me how I know! :-) but otherwise not so interesting.
But maybe that's just the desert parts of it?
