Have I mentioned I've traveled across the US a number of times?

Monument Valley is a beautiful place. Off the beaten path, which is to say, it isn't near, or parallel to any interstates. Many of the buttes in that area are sacred to the native peoples, and hence off limit to hikers. The most famous of these sites is Shiprock, which is a bit further east. I've had the pleasure of seeing Shiprock from the air, as well as the ground.
