Eastern Standard Time, LISTSERV@GERRY.VANAGON.COM writes: just dropped the gas tank and put the reseal kit in, and while there, exchanged the long radiator and heater lines. put it back together again, but really have the following problem: I installed the grommets in the tank, the crossover tube to the chassis, mounted up the tank, then pushed the crossover pipe connectors through the grommets. this was really hard, i was reaching in through the side wheelwell over the frame. I got those two in, but the third one, the overflow from the filler tube, I cannot push in as it is not a t piece and therefore harder to push in at this angle (harder to get a grip.) any trick and tip what to do here? is it easier to put the grommet on the line and then push the grommet in with the line? any tools of help? thanks
Flo, bet your trying to put them in dry. I coat the joint with Krown Rust proofing Oil before trying to push the nipples in the grommets. I suppose any type of oil or grease would work as well.
