Loren -

Howcum my VAG microfiche (dated 1991) (forget ETKA) clearly shows the OXS box (called a Recorder with Warning Switch - 251 957 901 C) were installed on USA Vanagons thru the 1991 model year? Perhaps a factory campaign afterwards to remove them for some recall reason?

Perhaps Troy has a Canadian model where they weren't installed at the factory, which would explain why his may be missing and he uses the long cable. I know my buddy's 87 Canadian Panel Vanagon doesn't have one either and uses the long cable.

BTW Troy - The replacement Speedo Cable I picked from the local Dealer has BOTH a hole for the Cotter Pin and a slot for the 4mm E-Clip. Any *Good* FLAPS should have the appropriate 3/16" E-Clip in their bins, which will work fine.
