I've traveled a fair amount of the old US 66 in New Mexico and Arizona (and some in California) It parallels (in some places it >IS<) I-40. In Oklahoma it diverges north (no longer congruent with I-40). And that section I've not been on. I Missouri I think I-44 erased a lot of the old US 66. I've been on I-44 many decades ago. I'm afraid I have no clue where US 66 ran from St. Louis up to Chicago.
