Hi Volks once again,

Well, I've gotten a lot of good advice from the listees. Chris, can I borrow your bunny slippers? :- )

Actually as several of you pointed out, just cut the seal. It took hardly any time at all and never had to worry about a catcher.

One thing though: Ya gotta wipe the SO's steak knife with acetone before you put it back in the drawer! Ask me how I know! :o (

I see there are two definite camps - - cold repair and welding/brazing. But I think I'll take Courtney Hook's suggestion and post some photos somewhere. What looks bad to me may be really minor to you guys in the Salt Belt!

Anyway, I probably won't do anything for another week - - in the meantime I've got to call my ISP again and see if they can get my DSL line straightened out. It's really slow right now, but at least it hasn't lost the connection for the last 15 minutes (knock on wood).

Thanks for all the great suggestions and I'll get back when the DSL bugs are worked out.

Gary
