Now that we have a collection of ideas, let me suggest you try the rig and gear to see if it works. Jim Felder has the right idea. So here's a thought about that. Why not combine work with play and "Do 66" in your vanagon self contained. Spring will be nice in the land of AZ and also in Chile country. My personal recommendations along the way are the Atomic Cafe, the Silver Saddle Motel, La Posada Hotel. No, I won't tell you where they are, it'd tarnish the glory of discovery.
