Has anyone thought of trying a linear actuator that runs off a DC current? Push a button....up it goes. Push another button, down it goes. You might have to remove the current lifter arms, but what if you mounted them futher back towards the middle of the car, with the other end attached to the top point in the westy top and had them just angle up as they ride on bearings. Seems Doable. If anyone has any input on this, i might give it a try, all i have to loose is my pride.
