Hi Nathaniel,

Inside the van, the city water line goes from the city water hook-up directly to the city water faucet connection on the sink (if you have the OEM faucet). That is why the OEM faucet has two positions on, and a center off position. The hose used should be capable of moderately high pressure (50 psi). A lot of people buy a pressure regulator to attach between the service port on the outside and the supply hose from the campground.

Inside the OEM faucet, there are two ball-type check valves, one for each water supply connection. The check valves prevent the city water connection from pressurizing the water tank side, and the water tank side from pressurizing the city connection side.

Cheers,

Dave
