Hey Nathan.

Some of this might be redundant but.....

There was thread I was involved in last summer about grey water and holding tanks etc. One kind fellow posted a link/info on building yer own custom grey water tank.

Try searching under "grey water" and/or use this address:

goofymuso@yahoo.ca

I don't think he sent info to my p-mail.

Personally I use a red (? litres) pail. (and it HAS to be red ;^) For one man camping, it works fine. I did some camping in WA and OR and there was no problem dumping water into proper receptacle (on OR coast campsites marked "dishwater").

It's too bad there isn't a paint pail that would fit under van. It would have a lid, and an opening big enough for drain. Would make transporting to drain points much lesh sloshy.

I try to keep grease out of grey water as much as poss., use bio soap, and in future will try spraying a soap/water solution to wash dishes and rinse from there.

The red pail fits pretty snug under van, is low key, works fine for one person, and is useful for other things. Maybe someday I'll build a custom tank, but have enough to do for now.

Cheer,

Neil.
