I have no advice to offer -- just a note that it could be worse :-) I had a
78 Westy with the typical rotting out sliding door track at the bottom. I
was making a fast left in rush hour traffic and the slider flew off and
landed in the intersection as I looked behind me to see where the sudden
draft was coming from. Luckily the door didn't hit anyone and no one hit the
door --- which I recovered and re-installed.
