I have re-joined the vanagon list serve after realizing I can't do it alone. So, I pledge to give help at least as much as I receive it. Here is my current problem. I just had the tranny rebuilt for my syncro Westy. After spending two days wrestling this pig back in the van, I excitedly got in the driver's seat to test it out only to find that the clutch pedal wouldn't budge! During the removal/re-install of the tranny, the hydraulic clutch system was left closed so air in the system doesn't seem to be the culprit. The van sat for about 6 months while I waited for the tranny to be rebuilt by a very busy tranny shop. Searching the archives, I only encountered one message about this problem. The only response was the hypothesis that the pressure plate was stuck to the clutch disc. I tried the recommended fix but it didn't work. I am really bummed and can't face the possibility of removing the tranny once again. Any ideas?? Thanks for your help in advance. |
