Yep. Ran into a German couple in Whitehorse, YT, back in August of '96 who were touring America and Canada. Whitehorse was as far north as they got. Bought the rig in Mexico City. It had the Golf/Jetta inline four installed on a slant. They were delighted, said it ran like a champ.
