Mike,
I think that the rubber seal is the real problem.
It is just the worst gasket system ever designed.
Now it could be that some stretching occurs when your
torque but 160 psi is not what I consider high
pressure on such head bolts. I could see that they
might stretch and the head warp if you are
overheating. But it really is a matter of the
chicken or the egg as to which came first.
