The members poll brought forth this memory from August 1989. We (Ron, Beve and Rosa) took the road trip up to Monkey Bay, Malawi in our 1600 Brazilian bus. We left Harare on Sunday morning so that we would be in position to take the Zimbabwe Military Convoy across Mozambique to Malawi on Monday.

Sunday evening we spent in a large caravan park (an open muddy field) on the border side of Nyamapanda ( http://go.hrw.com/atlas/norm_htm/zimbabwe.htm ) with a lot of other vehicles. I noticed what looked like a late 70's bus in green with some kind of European transit plates. The occupants were a young European couple. After dark they pulled the curtains and turned on the tape player. To say more would be speculative. They may even be list members; if so, Hi!

Ron
