Subject: refitting propane tank
Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; delsp=yes; format=flowed

Hi, list,

I R&R'd my propane tank, cleaned it and repainted it and have just reinstalled it. I hear that the lines have to be purged now. Does this mean vacuum has to be applied to get rid of the air that is in it?? Or should I just go ahead and have it filled, and see what happens. I think my propane equipment has not been used in several years. Is there a big chance of leaks?? My fittings seem tight, am just wondering about the valve (open/close valve), as well as fill inlet and regulator (how does that function anyways??> Does it adjust the mixture? Mixture with what?).

Keep on Trucking,

Matthias

p.s.: oh, and I did take apart my rear brakes once more and alas-I installed the springs for the shoes upside down, they then dragged on the adjuster nut and might (probably) did cause the starnge reverse and no brakes problem I posted about. Kind of embarrassing, but I will post an update for the archive on that one as soon as I can roadtest my Westy.
