Thanks for both suggestions - Mark Drillock also suggested both, too.

I haven't checked yet, it's snowing outside, we're getting an ice storm, and I'm not going out to explore mechanical issues in this weather. I kinda hope it's a leaked bottle of oil under the back seat - that would be so simple! Messy, but simple.
