Sometimes they (mythbusters) are wrong...

In the program that identified the thermal covering (the outside wrapper of the Hindenberg) as the likely source of the start of the fire, they had the advantage of having a scrap of the ORIGINAL skin. A spark applied to that ignited and rapidly burned.

Hydrogen burns with a blue (nearly invisible) flame. The Hindenberg definitely burned orange/red, which is more indicative of other materials....
