I just installed a Panasonic CQ-C5303U, it was about $110 with shipping from buydig. It has line level aux inputs (works with any MP3 player), and you can also get a cable specific to the iPod (CA-DC300U, about $50) which lets you control it from the headunit. It also has a motorized tilting faceplate, which helps make it easier to see and control in a Vanagon, where it's mounted considerably below eye level.

The corners of the dash opening are rounded, and need to be squared off a bit to get most DIN mount units to fit. 5 minutes with a file.

And a big selling point for me is that it doesn't have a lot of the worthless moving displays found on most units (which are marketed to pre-pubes that like sound defects).
