I ended up with a Sony CDX-GT400. It can play MP3 CDs, and has an "aux" input on the front. The main thing I like it that it'll also control a CD changer (CDX-757) that'll hold 10 MP3 discs and lives under the sink. The display is bright, so you can't have it on at night, but other than that, it's great. I think I paid about $120 for it, on FleaBay.
