The engine is cranked over at 50 degrees just like a diesel vanagon. You need the same diesel stuff you would need for a gas-to-diesel conversion: oil pan, bell housing, input shaft, hanger bars and mounts. Probably some mounts, too, like vanagon diesel alternator mounts. I understand it all bolts right into a bus with an VW inline gas or diesel engine. I don't know how the transmission ratio works out with the gas engine's torque curve, but I imagine a few on the diesel list are familiar with it. I know it to be a good match with the diesel. Then you'd have to run coolant lines up front and put in a radiator, fan and shroud somehow and add relays, fuses and instruments. The engine would be the easy part.
