Yes,

That little bit of over-center force required to lock the support struts in place can be tough using the central cross bar. I very rarely get both struts to snap into place evenly, but I'm usually trying to be gentle. One usually snaps in place before the other, but that may be a good way to approach it with less upper body strength. Choose one strut after both are almost there, use both hands on one to snap it in, and then snap in the other.

The tension of the canvas also affects how easy it is too.
