Subject: Ebrake Cable Q. on 56 Single
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"
Hi all
Well The Saga continues with the E-Brake issue on my 56 single Cab.
Ive lowered the Truck using 68 Bug Straight axles Using All 68 beetle rear end components. I switched to 66-67 Cables to so they would fit the Backing plates
and could be slightly modified at the backing plate to work with out an issue. Thats not the issue. Issue is the Length of the Cable is about 8-10 inches to Long.
SO Should I try and find a Cable Shortening Kit ( If Available ???) It is only for the ebrake so it is not a biggie. But it would be nice to have it work. I could check
with Fastenal and or Other fastener companies to come up with something.
The other Goofey issue is the New Lowered front beam the Adjusters when Raising the front trailing arms the Bolt hits the shift rod that passes through the
suspension Tubes. So I will probably just cut the head off the bolt and Slot it to torque it in and use the Jam nut to holt it in place. Cant find a 40 mm 14x1.5 Cap
head Bolt or allen drive Bolt without purchasing a Box of them. Thanks
Just rambling since I just put the snow blower away and its still cold.
Jonce
