With LP in tank, open valve on regulator. Check for leaks by putting soapy water solution on all unions. Look for bubbles on each union.

Valve on reg does not "mix" anything.

Fill valve is where attendant hooks up LP hose.

Did you replace reg. fill valve and bleeder?

Use proper precautions when working on LP system!!

AFAIK:

regulator regulates the pressure/amount of LP through line(s) to appliances. (stove/fridge) Once valve is open, a regulated amount of LP comes out the outlet and goes through lines to appliances. The tank has lots of pressure when LP is in it. That pressure needs to be regulated (lowered) to a "set" amount that appliances can proplerly use.

i.e. you don't need to turn (open) the "open/close valve" until it comes to a stop. 1/2 - 3/4 of the way (CCW) is fine. If reg. is working properly, the correct amount of pressure will be coming from outlet of reg. through lines to appliances.

IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBTS as to how to check function of valves, look for leaks, or finish your job, go to a licensed LP pro and have system checked/finished.

Just my $.02

Neil.
