Went and looked at an 88 Wolfsburg today that suffered an engine fire. Shop was closed by the time we got there so could only look from the outside. No visual evidence of a fire -- no char marks, everything in one piece. Shop owner previously mentioned that the hoses / wiring would need to be replaced. Sure would be a shame to part it, but I have too many vans as it is. Since I need a Carat / Wolfy interior I was thinking of parting it unless someone wants to get it back on the road. It's in SE Virginia. What's an average salvage price on one of these? Owner is looking for $1000, but that sounds kinda steep, even though she's complete (minus alloys). thoughts? john |
