Hello, Inquired about buying some head rests from a local fellow, his 91 GL had been sitting for 6 months at a repair shop. Thought he'd sell 3 for some quick cash. He sold me the whole van. Cheap. It drives. Automatic I intend to swap out a few ancillary items. A head light and pass mirror. This Vangon is in very good shape for a Wisconsin vehicle. No rust, just a few dings. Better body than my 90 MV. The motor has the usual head problem and don't think it would be good to really drive without repair. Apparently has an idle problem. A break is hung up so I can't drive except to move it. This spring I had planned to part it out. Everything. Not my idea of fun but this thing is loaded, power options, a.c., body plastic-- besides the fast and dirty electronic parts to scavenge. I hate to do it, it's not a bad Vanagon. Needs some mechanical work and TLC. I would not be able to do the heads myself. I don't need an extra van. I paid close attention as to what 7 pass GL's could sell for in Wisconsin. I could use the cash, would get the vehicle off the driveway and pleasure of dismantling. Pet? Or meat? Thanks, Chirs C 90mv, 91 GL-7 pass |
