Subject: Re: Dometic replacement

The questions begs, why would you want to replace one absorption fridge with another? Three way fridges just don't hold a candle to the electric 'swing' compressor type, which the DC-0040 is. The compressor fridge will run up to four days on the auxilary battery, a week if you store a 100-a/h deep-cycle somewhere, like under the seat. The compressor fridge works SO much better in the heat than the three-way units. Turn it on and forget it until you get home. I'll never go back to a three-way in my vans. Karl
