Finally tracked down those VW Rebuilt engines up here in the Great White North.

More to the story.........I went ahead and ordered one ! It arrived here yesterday in a nice wooden crate. Open the crate and here's what I see. It's basically a new engine ! New cases, new VW heads made in Poland, new spark plugs, new flywheel, new oil cooler and filter, new oil pump and cover plate. No studs for the bell housing connection so don't forget to take yours off before sending in the core. I was told that all the internals are also new which means the pistons & cylinders are VW spec Kobleschmidts not the SA COFAP ones. So, the price was $3302.57 CND ! Well, I may buy a few more just to have them before VW decides to jack up the price or discontinue them. There was one more left in Canada and 7 or 9, can't remember what I was told, left in the US. Better grab 'em now before they go extinct ! Biggest problem was that they want the core back - ASSEMBLED ! Harumph !! I had to go gather up all the worst pieces I could find and assemble an engine to turn in.

Cheers,
