Wow, didn't expect to see my name mentioned here...

My original engine swap was with a Ford 2.3 Turbo motor.
I had an Esslinger adapter plate and flywheel.
A phone call to KEP discouraged me from using this setup due to the inherent
vibration characteristics of the Ford 2.3 motor.
The projected 180-200hp wouldn't of sat well with the transmission either.
The last straw was when somebody offered me a decent amount of money for the
whole setup to use in a BAHA bug.

My second and current attempt is a plain jane 1.8L VW Jetta motor with
counter-flow head.  The adapter plate is a KEP unit and the motor mount
system was fabricated by yours truly.
Unfortunately the Vanagon project is low on my priority list.  Maybe
someday..


The V6 Chevy van you are probably thinking of belongs to Rick Sherrod (don't
