I didn't mean to imply that if one battery was bad it would absolutely take out the second. Batteries do tend to want to equalize themselves, and a bad battery can deteriorate a good one. Relays are also not true battery isolators, which is another point I wanted to make. A true battery isolator will shut down a battery when it reaches a certain minimum voltage. This by itself can save a battery and $$. Having a good metering system, I think is key in any case.

Using the Sure Power 1315 Battery Separator solves all your problems. The batteries are NEVER, NEVER, EVER, connected to one another. That's the whole point of using the Sure Power device ! We've been over this a gazillion times if not more ! Relay systems work but not well, isolator systems work a little better but still not correct.
