List-members,

During the past 20 years or so, I have heard/read various reports and news-releases stating something like, "a new breakthrough is about to be released" in batteries that will "revolutionize" the industry. Anyone have an insight or friends in the industry that are in the know about such developments?

Li-ion, mine in a laptop, began dying at two years of age. Better energy density though. Ni-metalhydride, portable drills. YMMV AGM, more smoke than substance. Good for target practice perhaps. (RVC) Carbon-Air? Charging times... 2 for 1 last I heard. What's next?

Inquiring impatient minds want to know...
