Zoltan,

I am about 99% certain that every vanagon has the holes in the floor for bolting down the tracks with bolts welded to the bottom of the van for the threads to catch those bolts. Certainly, almost all do.

A Westy body was partially made at a VW factory and then finished off elsewhere.

I sold a set of tracks and bolts to Jim Felder in AL so that he could install a pedestal seat in his vanagon. He just bolted it in - well, some modifications have to be made to the carpet, but you can see how to do that by looking at the carpet pattern in a regular passenger van.

I once bought a pedestal seat from a guy and got the pedestal seat and the tracks as part of the deal, even though I already had tracks. He had taken them out of his Westy and wanted to be rid of them also. He had wanted to charge me an extra sum of $$ for them, but just gave them to me when I showed up to get the seat.

And, actually, this part has been covered before, so you are right, it could be found in the archives. I don't remember anyone asking about alternate attachments though.

Sam
