With the 1315 you can add a manual switch to use the aux battery to aid the starting battery with starting the engine ... or you can wire to the ignition switch so that paralleling the batteries when starting is automatic.

Either way, you'll need to use 4 gauge wires for runs up to 10 feet or 2 gauge wires for runs 10 to 20 feet (not the little wire to the switch or ignition switch).
