The high amperage combiner is a good choice that allows the use of heavy cable.

It's better than the standard Hella dual battery relay system.

I would like to point out that the 1315 costs twice as much as the 4-way boat switch or Hella relay kit, if your budget is a consideration.

As Mike has pointed out, the 1315 really is a neat item to have if you can afford it.

So add affordablity to my list of pros for the boat switch . I get a lot of my needed stuff at junkyards- that would be a cool to find a 1315 in a wrecked conversion van or RV.
