Subject: problem with front radiator hoses coming loose from plastic pipes
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Has anyone on the list ever had problems with the front radiator hoses coming loose from the plastic pipes? I had a problem with this about a year ago and found that either the previous owner or some hack mechanic had inserted a metal stint with a lip on it try and stop the problem. Bentley did not show this part so I removed it but saved it. I then had a problem again after about a year without the metal insert and re tightened the clamps and applied a little loctite to the worm gear to prevent slippage. This lasted about 2 weeks. I am somewhat leery about over tightening the clamps so I went a bit tighter and added a second clamp. I will have to drain and refill the coolant when I replace the radiator and this particular hose soon and wondered if anyone else has had a similar problem and has a better fix. Thanks to all.
