I've been lurking out here in Richmond, VA for a couple of weeks after finding this list and have picked up a ton of great information. I recently acquired an '89 Vanagon with only 49,000 miles on it. It seems to be in really good shape mechanically and cosmetically and I'm preparing to do a lot of traveling in it this spring, summer, and fall. My question is in regard to fridge suggestions. 1) I'm leaning to gas absorption models. From the little I've seen on the list, my two best manufacturer choices are Dometic and Norcold. Where does the weight of opinion come down on that choice? 2) I'm leaning toward the 3-way including propane rather than AC/DC 2-way. Again, what is the weight of opinion on that question? 3) Is gas absorption the way to go or is there preference for compressor models? Thanks in advance for helping me throught these decisions.
