Hi Jon,

DON'T DO IT!!!!

PTFE is great if you use it regularly, but an older engine that has not seen PTFE used will usually be full of sludge deposits. The PTFE will loosen these deposits and they will end up back in the oil flow, where they will block oil passages and foul the filter. PTFE additives are not going to extend the life of your wife's westy engine.
