I feel the pain... kind a scary also, i don't like the part when you say that the engine was running fine and just broke without almost any warning. what is strange is that the oil pressure gage when low almost at the same time the engine broke.

That prove one thing, anyone can have proplems, anytime, without warning, even "Mechanics"...

What is your plan? to have it tow back north or to fix it there?

If you plan to fix it there, let me know, my van should be ready in a few days...
