for those of you who also own the following: 1999-2005 Jetta sedan 2001-2005 jetta wagon 1998-2007 New Beetle 2003-2007 New Beetle convertibles/cabriolet 1999-2006 Golf and GTi 2004 R32 all US models

there's a recall coming out for faulty brake lights. see cnn.com for details or your local vw stealer.

from cnn "the malfunctioning brake lights and brake light switches could fail to come on or remain stuck on".

this is an expansion of last year's Jetta/New Beetle recall for the same defective parts.

so head's up, folks: if you own one of the above cars, you're gonna have to go do battle with the DSD (Dreaded Service Department). :(
