for those of you who also own the following:
1999-2005 Jetta sedan
2001-2005 jetta wagon
1998-2007 New Beetle
2003-2007 New Beetle convertibles/cabriolet
1999-2006 Golf and GTi
2004      R32
all US models

there's a recall coming out for faulty brake lights.

this is an expansion of last year's Jetta/New Beetle recall for the
same defective parts.

so head's up, folks: if you own one of the above cars,
you're gonna have to go do battle with the DSD (Dreaded Service
Department). :(
