You should replace every rubber hose that is attached to any part of the
fuel system unless you don't mind your vehicle being ON FIRE! I don't know
whether to believe it, but I read someplace that the original hoses were not
designed to handle the MTBE additive you find in gasoline these days, and
they will ALL fall apart over time. I certainly have seen this happen on my
van.

I replaced all hoses and grommets on my fuel tank recently, and virtually
every hose was cracked or crumbling. What a PITA it was to get that fuel
tank back in (HINT: Two grease monkeys are better than one!). Well, imagine
my surprise when I filled it and once again had the smell of gasoline. It
turned out that the gasket on the fuel level sender was bad, so I had to R&R
the fuel tank again to replace the sender along with it's gasket. I
recommend doing all of it the first time! =)
