Andrew, Though the plastic, at the speedometer end of the cable, is cracked, you might be able to remove the instrument pod cover and adjust the cable for a better position. Maybe if you loosely secure the cable it'll hold its position without strain on the connector. Sometimes, after I've had my instrument cluster out, I'll experience a bouncing needle. Going back in and moving the cable a bit has always fixed it. But ... you know what they say ... YMMV Mike
