The Toronto Star reported: "Up to 10 centimetres of snow, whipped by
winds gusting up to 70 km/h, hit the city by mid-afternoon, bringing
traffic to a standstill as motorists faced whiteout conditions." But I
think it snowed WAY more than 10 cm (about 4").

Any of the main routes, with three lanes or more were blanketed but
passable. My 1986 Syncro AdventureWesty stayed sure footed slowly and
carefully weaving around the numerous vehicles spinning their tires
(particularly up hills). There is something very satisfying about
effortlessly moving past a six figure Mercedes sedan at a 45 degree
angle to traffic spinning its tires to get up a hill.

This morning was not much better. The snow had started a major melt
and though most roads were relatively clear of snow cover, low spots
had been replaced by LARGE pools of standing water that could not find
its way to storm drains which had been covered by snowbanks created
from plowing last night's deluge. But again the syncro handled them no
problem splashing through DEEP water like it was nothing.

Though part of me is reluctant to use my syncro in winter, preferring
instead to save it from rust, days like this just remind me how
wonderful it is to have a vehicle so capable in the snow.
