I found this part in the Bentley manual finally. It's not in the fuel injection section. Can I assume then that it has no function relative to the I system?

Does anyone know why my 1990 engine code MV would not have the charcoal canister? Am I missing an essential emissions control component or was this simply deleted after a certain post '86 year?
