The brakes seem very balanced. I've landed on them a couple times and they are excellent. I've also done the four wheel disk conversion and--without having them side by side--It seems the Smallcar disk/SA drum setup is equally as good. Of course I'm installing heavy 5 cyl Tdi's so there is much more weight in the rear than stock which may help with rear lock-up issues.
