I also agree with Robert, but if you are travelling from here to there and end up camping some where boring then a DVD might be entertaining.  I bought one of the 7" DVD players for my wife for her birthday.  We plan to bring it with us in the van this summer.  If I decide to go for a bike ride or what ever then she can watch a movie if she wants.   A lap top would probably be a better option if storage space and cost were not a concern.
