Bureacratic BS! Doesn't the state of Illinois have any better use of their resources? What incentive do private citizens have to explore alternative energy sources and to live a "greener" lifestyle when we get tied up in this restrictive red tape? The fact is that the state or national government would have to spend millions in tax incentives to start a used vegetable oil refinery to get into the business themselves and will get this money from the private citizens in the form of surprise taxes. Some peon in the Illinois motor fuel tax division is getting an "attaboy" pat on the back and probably a promotion for starting this gestapo vegetable oil motor fuel taxation squad. Let all of us long-haired, dirt worshipping, tree hugging, ohm chanting hippie types do our part to save the earth, save our money and feel good about pollution burping diesels instead of having to buy Al Gore's right pocket to left pocket carbon credits. I am a libertarian that believes that less government is the best government. I believe that the private citizen will better spend his or her hard earned dollar than my government will. Leave the Mother Earth reading folk alone to do their small part to save the Earth. We definitely cannot expect the US or any state government to do it for us.
