In honor of my community college's spring break, I am heading up to Laguna Campground (http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/cleveland/recreation/camping/laguna.shtml), April 2 through 6. This is a National Forest CG. Many of the sites are reserveable, through reserveramerica.com, but the place won't be filling up on weekdays and a lot of nice sites will probably be open. The town of Julian is nearby, for those that find touristy-rustic Old West kinds of places interesting. There is slight cell service, at least with Verizon. No 'lectricity. Pit toilets, showers, and water is available at scattered hose bibs. Weekdays tend to be quiet. I've seen raptors, deer, cows, the occasional snake. Full moon is expected that week, so star-gazing will be minimal. Average temps are upper 30's at night, lower 70's during the day. In case anyone in the extreme lower left corner of the US is interested in doing likewise. Nothing special planned. I do a lot of sitting, reading, puttering, and have been known to ride my bike to the nearby store at Mount Laguna for beers or stuff. Site 13 is my address. Mrs Squirrel will be unable to join me. Alas. I keep her picture near my bed when she's not there. -- Mike "Rocket J Squirrel" Elliott 71 Type 2: the Wonderbus 84 Westfalia: Mellow Yellow ("The Electrical Banana") 74 Utility Trailer.
